Video game controller

Hi Every one.

I have an idea. Do you think is possible to use a video game controller as sampler?

My idea:

A PS3 controller (or any one usb video game controller) plug into the samplerbox.
the X button for Kick the O button for snare
The Up button for HH close the down button for HH open.

It's an example.
What do you think? For kids it can be fun.
