a couple of quick questions from beginner

I have managed to get samplerbox up and running. I have it connected with hdmi. I have a usb with some samples on from the instrument section. When I play my keyboard I hear the saw sound through my soundcard. so all is working but it should be the samples I hear. When I change preset I hear nothing. When I run samplerbox.py I can now hear the presets and not the saw sound but I hear them through the TV connected to HDMI. Any ideas.

Does the user and password need to be entered each time samplerbox loads.
