Problem with serial MIDI and samplerbox release 2016-11-14

Hi
I've just update the img of sampler box on my sdcard with the 2016-11-14 release.
My serial MIDI does not work anymore.
When I plug my keyboard by usb on the samplerbox, it works.

Have you got the same problem?

I could make serial MIDI work with samplerbox_20150618.img on RPI 2B

I could NOT make serial MIDI work with samplerbox_20161228.img on RPI 2B or RPI 3

Using USB-Midi interface and Akai LPK25 works with samplerbox_20161228.img on RPI 2B and RPI 3.

I am having a very very tough time getting the serial MIDI to work. I check all connections, I try different connections, I substitute 6N138 optocouplers of different manufacturers, I swap out Pi boards (2B and 3), I try different codes, .... It looks like everyone and their dog can get this, but I can't-- very frustrating.

The USB MIDI works, so I know for sure that the issue is in the optocoupler configuration. Is it possible to blow the serial port? It never got brought to 5V.

Have I missed anything?

The serial port input should be 3.3v when there is no data, supplied through 1k pull-up resistor

the diagram works with

samplerbox_20150618.img and RPI2B
