How to format forum posts?

This is how to write **bold**, and *italic*.

To insert a link, write [link text](http://www.example.com).

For images, write ![](http://www.example.com/image.jpg).

• You can do a list ...
• ... by starting the lines with *

Is there a way to put code? I.e, left blank spaces before the text.
